Chicago Sky rookie Hailey van Lith just started training with her new team, and she admitted to having her pick for a veteran she would like to pick up notes from.
In a recent interview, Hailey Van Lith admitted to watching over Sky veteran Courtney Vandersloot. In fact, the young rookie admitted to being conscious about it, fearing she might lok like stalking Vandersloot at one point.
“I mean, all practice,” Van Lith said. “She (Vandersloot) probably thought I was stalking her. I literally was like staring at her all practice. Like, ‘what are you doing right now? What read are you making?’
“But no, especially when we were playing and my team wasn’t on, like getting to see her make reads and manipulate defenses and live action,” she added. “It’s, I’m super blessed to have her in the gym and be able to learn from her. She’s probably one of the, if I could pick any vet in the league, she would be the one that I would pick to learn from.”
The Chicago Sky made a bold move in the 2025 WNBA Draft, selecting Hailey Van Lith with the 11th overall pick. Van Lith, a standout guard from TCU, brings a dynamic scoring ability and playmaking skills to a team looking to rebuild and strengthen its backcourt. Her selection reunites her with Angel Reese, her former LSU teammate.

Angel Reese Shares Update on Training With Hailey Van Lith
In a recent press interview, Chicago Sky star Angel Reese talked about her experience reuniting and working together once again with former LSU teammate Hailey Van Lith.
“I know a lot of pressure is probably on her from the outside,” Reese said of Van Lith. “I know how it is just being the big name coming to town and expected to do big things. I’m just telling her to ‘stay calm’ and ‘stay poised.'”
“Last year was tough for me because I didn’t have a lot of vets,” Reese admitted. “So being that ‘big sister,’ I guess, kind of to her this year is super important for her.”
