Hailey Van Lith was ecstatic on Sunday as she dropped an Instagram post while donning her championship hat and holding the Big 12 tournament trophy. Lith and the TCU Horned Frogs took on the Baylor Lady Bears and won the game on Sunday, with an impressive 64-59 final score.
The TCU Horned Frogs finished their regular season at the top of the Big 12 table with a 16-2 conference score and 31-3 overall. Meanwhile, the Baylor Lady Bears finished second with a 15-3 conference score and 27-7 overall.
The TCU Horned Frogs played the Baylor Lady Bears in their season finale as well, grabbing a close 51-48 final there. From there, TCU went on to the Big 12 playoffs to win against the Colorado Buffaloes and the West Virginia Mountaineers, with 69-62 and 71-65 final scores respectively.
In the game against the Baylor Lady Bears, the TCU Horned Frogs had Hailey Van Lith leading them on the scoreboard with 20 points, grabbing three rebounds and assisting thrice, while Sedona Prince added another 12 points for the team, along with 14 boards and four helpers. Donovyn Hunter and Madison Conner each scored 11 points for the team in the winning effort.
In this college basketball season, the TCU Horned Frogs’ lead scorer was obviously Hailey Van Lith with 17.9 point average per game, while Sedona Prince is second lead scorer with a 17.5 point average in every matchup played. Madison Conner is third in the list with a 14.6 point average this season.
Hailey Van Lith Leads TCU Horned Frogs To First Big 12 Win In Two Decades
The win against the Baylor Lady Bears on Sunday was definitely not a simple thing for Haley Van Lith and the TCU Horned Frogs. TCU managed to win their first Big 12 conference title in 20 years and the game goes down in their history as one of their best.
In this season, with Lith taking care of their offense, TCU broke their 37-game losing streak against Baylor. The Horned Frogs managed to thrash the Baylor Lady Bears three times, with the final win granting them the championship trophy.
For her performance in the TCU Horned Frogs team in this college basketball season, Hailey Van Lith was eventually named the Big 12 Tournament MVP. Hailey Van Lith joined the TCU Horned Frogs only in the previous year. Before that, she played for the Louisville Cardinals from 2020 to 2023, and then for the LSU Tigers from 2023 to 2024.
