Houston Rockets swingman Dillon Brooks finds himself in hot water during his team’s blowout 143-105 win against the Utah Jazz yesterday.

The one-time NBA All-Defensive Second Team member incurred his 16th technical foul of the 2024-25 campaign after kicking Collin Sexton in the groin area while shooting a fadeaway jumper during the first quarter.
If the technical is not rescinded, Brooks will be suspended for Friday’s game against the West-leading Oklahoma City Thunder.

Brooks recorded his 14th and 15th technical fouls during last Sunday’s 148-109 victory over the Phoenix Suns when he got into a shoving match with Kevin Durant before complaining to the officials. He was ejected for the first time this season as a result.
Houston Rockets hit significant milestone
Despite Dillon Brooks’ antics, the Houston Rockets secured their 50th win of the season last night. By doing so, they clinched the Southwest Division crown for the first time since 2020.

James Harden was still with the Houston Rockets the last time they qualified for the playoffs. They have gone a long way since head coach Ime Udoka inherited a 22-60 squad in 2023.
Seven Houston Rockets scored double-digit points against the Utah Jazz. Jalen Green led with 22 points, four rebounds, and four three-pointers on 7-for-15 shooting from the field. Dillon Brooks, Alperen Sengun, Tari Eason, Reed Sheppard, Jabari Smith Jr., and Cam Whitmore added 21, 15, 15, 15, 15, and 11 points.
