Houston Rockets forward Dillon Brooks has made a name for himself as one of the NBA’s best perimeter defenders. His effort and eagerness to stop his opponents make him a frustrating matchup for most offensive players. However, there are a few stars who manage to get the best of him on the floor. Still, that wasn’t the case for LeBron James during their Monday night matchup.
The Los Angeles Lakers protected their home floor against the Rockets with a 104-98 win. But Brooks had one memorable defensive moment when he guarded the Lakers star. James tried to take advantage of the situation and post up on the forward. However, the 3-and-D player stood his ground and prevented King James from overpowering him on the floor.

Brooks had a defensive stop on James and it energized his teammates. However, the four-time champion and the Lakers had the last laugh as they secured the victory.

The Houston Rockets’ rebounding couldn’t get them the win past the Lakers

One of the biggest strengths of the Houston Rockets has been their rebounding. The team leads the league in rebounds per game, with 48.6. The team is eighth in defensive rebounding with 33.9 and first in offensive rebounding with 14.8.
However, they couldn’t get the win against the Lakers with just their rebounding. The team won the battle of the boards against Los Angeles. They finished the game with 61 rebounds, while Los Angeles only had 50. Even with their dominance on the glass, the team couldn’t secure the win over the Luka Doncic-led squad.
Jabari Smith Jr. led the Houston Rockets with 11 rebounds in the night. He was the only player to have double digits in rebounding.
