Houston Rockets: Neither Ja Morant nor Trae Young was called up by Team USA to represent the country in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. This only means that both superstars have time on their respective hands to enjoy the NBA Summer League.
Rockets rookie Reed Sheppard has been one of the biggest standouts of the preseason tournament thus far, which is why it comes as no surprise that both Morant and Young had head-turning reactions to Reed’s exploits early on.

Sheppard and the Rockets were in action again on Sunday as they took on the Washington Wizards. This was the No. 3 overall pick’s second game for Houston following his 23-point eruption in his debut against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.
Sheppard helped lead Houston to back-to-back Summer League wins with another strong outing on Sunday, finishing with 22 points on 60 percent shooting, six rebounds, seven assists, five steals, and a block.
Needless to say, Sheppard has been adjusting to life in the NBA quite well thus far.
Reed was so good that he had two of the biggest superstars giving him his flowers. Both Morant and Young took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their hyped reactions to the Rockets rookie’s eye-opening performances:
