Even when the WNBA is on a long break, all eyes continue to be on Indiana Fever rookie star Caitlin Clark.
The former Iowa Hawkeyes sniper got some more attention again recently when she debuted her first-ever Player Exclusive shoes, which is a Nike Kobe 5 Protro that also carried colors of the Fever and the Hawkeyes, as the first-year pro pointed out (h/t ClutchPoints).
“I feel like [the design], it’s Fever, but it’s also Iowa. So you get the best of both worlds. I have another one that you’ll probably see me wear later on that is even more Fever [based], so just wait for that one. But yeah, you got the yellow… they look a little similar to the Bruce Lee’s that I wear but still different. I like the gold swoosh. It’s the black and yellow. You can’t go wrong. Just the best colors,” Clark added.
Clark and the Fever are using the long break to prepare for the second half of the 2024 WNBA season. They have a good chance of making it to the playoffs for the first time since 2016, as the Fever entered the All-Star break seventh in the standings with an 11-15 record.
So far this season, Clark, selected first overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft, is averaging 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game, while shooting 40.5 percent from the field.
The Fever will play their next game on Aug. 16 at home versus the Phoenix Mercury.
