In her rookie WNBA season, Caitlin Clark has had a transformative impact on the Indiana Fever. Despite the team’s 11-15 record, they are poised to surpass their win total from 2023 and are currently in position to claim the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
The numbers tell the story when it comes to Clark’s impact. Attendance is up 264% as every available ticket has been sold, jersey sales have skyrocketed by 1,193%, and the team store has seen a 700% increase in purchases compared to last season. Concession sales have also soared, with hot dog sales up 300% and a 740% jump in draft beer consumption.
Clark’s impact extends well beyond the arena. The Fever have garnered over 800 million page views on social media in the last four months, gaining 1.3 million new followers since mid-April. This has made them the most-viewed team across major US sports leagues during that period. Consequently, national TV broadcasts of Fever games are up significantly, with 38 games aired this season – the most-watched WNBA games on ESPN, ABC, NBA TV and ION.
The increased visibility has attracted a wealth of new sponsors, with ad revenue up 225% compared to 2023. Team president Todd Taylor praised Clark’s fun style of play and the organization’s efforts to connect with the growing fanbase in new ways.
