There hasn’t been someone quite like Indiana Fever super rookie Caitlin Clark in the WNBA. Her impact not just on the league but on women’s basketball has been tremendous, to say the least. During her first season in the WNBA, she made and collected milestones and achievements left and right.
Even when the Fever are no longer in contention for the 2024 WNBA title, Clark continues to add to her legendary rookie resume, as she just got named on Wednesday into the All-WNBA First Team.
Of course, the Fever are feeling proud about Clark’s latest accomplishment.
“Caitlin Clark is the first rookie since 2008 to be named to the All-WNBA First Team,” the Fever’s post on X (formerly Twitter) read.
“She’s just the fifth rookie ever to earn the honors, alongside Fever legend Tamika Catchings 🔥.”
Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark is only getting started
It’s hard to argue against Clark’s case to be included on the 2024 All-WNBA First Team, given her incredible run in her rookie season in the pros. In 40 games with the Fever this season, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.4 assists while shooting 41.7 percent from the field and 34.4 percent from behind the arc.
She’s still got plenty of things to learn and improve on. For one, she averaged 5.6 turnovers per game in the 2023-24 season, but there is no denying that Clark is on a path to further greatness in the WNBA.
