The season is officially over for Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers. Their impressive postseason run came to a bitter end on Monday night after they suffered a 4-0 sweep at the hands of the mighty Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Haliburton wasn’t even able to play in their final game of the season after the All-Star point guard was ruled out due to a hamstring injury. This has led to the Pacers star dropping an honest assessment about how injuries play a role in a team’s success in the NBA Playoffs.

An understandably dejected Haliburton spoke to the press following their heartbreaking 105-102 season-ending loss on Monday night. According to the 24-year-old, he’s come to the conclusion that injuries play an undeniably integral role in any team’s postseason success:

“What I’ve understood more than anything is that usually in the playoffs the healthier team wins,“ he said.

Is this a shot aimed at the Celtics and the so-called luck they’ve had in their run to the NBA Finals? Boston battled a Jimmy Butler-less Miami Heat side in the opening round before defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the East Semis with Donovan Mitchell sitting out virtually half of the series.

In the East Finals, Haliburton was unable to suit up in the final two games of the series, which is why more than a few folks out there believe that the Celtics have had the easiest path to the Finals ever.

Could Haliburton be implying the same thing as well?
