Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle praised Tyrese Haliburton for his clutch performance in the team’s 120-119 Game 2 stunner against the Cleveland Cavaliers to go up 2-0 in their second-round series.

“Obviously, we got lucky. Ty hit another amazing shot to win the game,” Carlisle said about Haliburton via Joe Reedy of The Associated Press. “You don’t see this very often, let alone twice in one week. Tyrese, he came through again. We’re very fortunate.”
“Cleveland hit us with a hellacious punch early in the game. In the fourth, we just hung on. We maintained enough energy to get it done. Give the guys credit, they somehow found a way,” he added.

Haliburton continues to shut up his doubters with another signature moment last night. With the Indiana Pacers down 119-117 with 12.4 seconds left, Haliburton collected his own missed free throw and hit the game-winning triple over Ty Jerome.
Indiana Pacers News: Tyrese Haliburton reacts to Cleveland’s “overrated” chants
Tyrese Haliburton said he fed off the crowd’s “overrated” chants last night, and it showed. The two-time NBA All-Star finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, and four assists on 7-for-11 shooting from the field.

“I didn’t know we had beef,” Haliburton said about the Cleveland crowd via ESPN’s Jamal Collier. “That came out of nowhere, but now that label is there, that’s going to be, every time we play on the road. It’ll probably follow me until the next poll comes out and then we’ll see if I’m number one again.”
The “overrated” chants were about a recent The Athletic poll where Haliburton garnered the most votes as the NBA’s most overrated star. However, the Indiana Pacers guard got the last laugh yesterday.
