To say that Caitlin Clark had a memorable Iowa Hawkeyes career would be, without a doubt, a massive understatement. The Hawkeyes will forever be thankful to the 22-year-old for the legacy she has left with the program in the four years she was in Iowa.
In order to show their utmost appreciation for all that she has done, the Hawkeyes announced on Wednesday night that they will be retiring Clark’s No. 22 jersey.

From this day forward, no other player will be able to wear the No. 22 shirt for Iowa. This is after the Hawkeyes announced on Wednesday that Clark’s No. 22 jersey will forever be retired for the program:

That’s just fitting because we will never see anyone like Caitlin Clark in the future.
There’s always a possibility that someday, Iowa might come across a young star who proves to be better than the two-time AP Player of the Year. After all, the game has evolved in such a rapid and substantial manner over the past few years.
However, taking all things into consideration, there will likely be no other player in the future who will be able to take the basketball world by storm the way Clark did during her time in Iowa. This young lady elevated the game of women’s basketball in a way that no other player has done in the past, and there’s no denying that anyone and everyone who succeeds her will be indebted to how Caitlin blazed the trail for them.
Congratulations are once again in order to the one and only GOAT for this ultimate honor.
