LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are undefeated no more. On Monday night, JJ Redick suffered his first regular-season loss as an NBA head coach, as his Lakers got hit with a 109-105 setback at the hands of Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns on the road.
JJ Redick erupts on the sidelines after LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers waste possession
The Lakers, who won their first three games before sustaining the loss in The Valley, shot just 41.5 percent from the floor against the Suns. They also had 11 turnovers, including one in the second quarter where they gave the ball to Phoenix after failing to launch an attempt before the shot clock expired. That did not sit well with Redick, who appeared to put his players on blast from the sidelines after seeing a possession go to waste.

Lakers star LeBron James was the last one to touch the ball during the ill-fated possession, but Los Angeles could have also taken a shot before the four-time league Most Valuable Player got his hands on the leather. Los Angeles rookie Dalton Knecht had a clean look during that sequence but did not pull the trigger, opting instead to put the ball down and pass the ball to Jaxson Hayes, who isn’t really the best option for the Lakers, especially with the clock winding down.
Nevertheless, it is still very early in the season. The Lakers can continue learning how to play with each other and under Redick’s system.
