Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant made a triumphant return to action after an eight-game absence due to a hip injury.
There were concerns about Morant’s health due to that recent issue, but he definitely looked fine on the court on Monday against the Portland Trail Blazers. The high-flying point guard had 22 points, 11 assists, two rebounds, and a block while shooting 6-for-12 from the floor in 23 minutes of action in a 123-98 win over the Blazers.
Morant also provided some highlight reel-worthy plays, including a thunderous dunk in the second quarter.

Moreover, Morant is on the verge of making NBA history, as he is just one such performance away from breaking a league record.

Morant is undoubtedly the best player on a talented Grizzlies squad, and if Memphis is to make the playoffs and go deep in the postseason, it will need him to be healthy and effective on the floor.
Morant’s return to action also comes at the same time the Grizzlies are seemingly in a groove, as their win over Portland was Memphis’ third victory in a row. So far in the 2024-25 NBA season, the Grizzlies own an 11-7 record, which is good enough for fifth in the Western Conference.
On the season, Morant is averaging 20.8 points on 45.3 field goal percentage, 9.3 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game.
