Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant gave an enlivening response after LA Lakers veteran forward LeBron James played together with his son Bronny James on the court for the first time on the opening night of the NBA regular season, the first father-son duo in the league’s history.

Before the end of the first half of the match against the visitors Minnesota Timberwolves, Bronny James entered the court along with his father, LeBron, officially marking their unique record—a moment acclaimed by the spectators of the Crypto.com Arena.

Ja Morant joined the fray. In his X/Twitter account, the Grizzlies point guard posted fire emojis in a repost featuring a clip of the James duo joining simultaneously on the court.

That game saw the Lakers secure their victory against the Timberwolves, 110-103. LeBron James played 35 minutes on the court, scoring 16 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Meanwhile, his son Bronny only played for three minutes and only managed to get a rebound in his game stats.

Lakers fans might see the James father-son tandem back in action in their next game against the Phoenix Suns on October 26, seeking to add their second win and dominate the Western Conference early in the league.

Ja Morant at the games ahead: Prepared yet Uncertain

The previous season saw Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies only play nine games; the rest resulted from his suspensions due to his off-court behavior and, eventually, his season-shattering shoulder injury. However, his recovery allowed him to be ready for the following season.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Morant said that his challenges in the past months have allowed him to heal from his injury, reflect on his actions, and ultimately re-evaluate his priorities.

“I’m blessed to be in the position that I’m in to do what I love at the highest level,” Morant said. “Being able to take care of my family and also putting them in positions to excel in whatever they want to do in life is my main goal. So all that’s going well right now. So I have no complaints.”

Ja Morant participated in offseason activities and training. Previously, Nike also featured him in an advertisement. Morant was also engaged in intense workouts with the help of Grizzlies’ head coach, Taylor Jenkins, who let his star player train with his teammates.

However, Morant’s future still isn’t bright. Coming from many issues, the risks of particular injuries and other suspicious activities remain present. The Grizzlies guard aims to reclaim his formidable state in his probable return to the court against the Utah Jazz on October 24.
