Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart are known to be firm teammates at the New York Knicks, their bond developed since their Villanova Wildcat days. It’s normal for them to exchange playful banters, as seen in Hart’s joke about Brunson preferring to guard a player of the Toronto Raptors.
During the Knicks’ game against the Raptors, Stefan Bondy of the New York Post reported Hart disclosing Brunson has his eyes on the latter’s Gradey Dick, who guarded him during the second half of the game.
“Second half, Jalen Brunson kept saying, I want Dick. I’ll take Dick,” Hart said.
Hart’s comment could have many interpretations for many, particularly those who find Dick’s surname hilarious. Jalen Brunson knows this and has responded to his teammate’s fuzzy pun.
“He’s lying on my name,” Brunson tweeted.

Despite his surname on the spotlight once more, Dick has no ill feelings towards Hart and Brunson. He had long accepted the jokes, even making a jersey swap with Anthony Black of the Orlando Magic last March to make an amusing combination, making them trending for many then.
The Knicks and the Raptors clashed last Monday, resulting in a close match in favor of the former, 113-108. Karl Anthony-Towns scored 24 points and 15 rebounds for New York. Meanwhile, RJ Barett of Toronto made 30 points and eight rebounds.
Jalen Brunson very crucial for the Knicks to win the NBA Cup according to insider
Jalen Brunson and the Knicks made their way to the quarterfinals of the NBA Cup, nearing its championship. Brunson’s leadership and skills, per ESPN’s Kevin Pelton, are necessary to secure their ultimate victory.
In his report and analysis, Pelton mentioned Brunson as one of the pivotal playmakers in the In-Season Tournament.
“Brunson averaged 26.8 PPG in the group stage, up from 25.4 overall, despite playing just 27 minutes in a blowout win over the Magic in the final game. His 37 points on 12-of-20 shooting helped the Knicks outlast an upset bid by the Brooklyn Nets that would have hurt their chances of advancing,” Pelton reported.
The Knicks mainly rely on Brunson, their team captain, for crucial decisions on the court. He’s one of the major factors that brought the team victories, ending second place in the regular season last year.
Jalen Brunson averages 25.2 points, 7.8 assists, and 2.9 rebounds this season. He and the Knicks will face the Atlanta Hawks today to advance to the semifinals of the NBA Cup.
