Draya Michele, actress and girlfriend of Houston Rockets shooting guard Jalen Green, paid tribute to music producer Irv Gotti, as the latter recently passed earlier this week.
In a story she posted on her Instagram page, Michele shared how the late producer was instrumental in her having a break as an actress.
“RIP to a legend,” Michele wrote in her story. “One of the first people to put me in a music video. A visionary- and thank you for believing in my acting career and putting me in Tales.”
“Your human form will be missed but your soul and work will live on forever 💔.”
Irv Gotti rose to prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s, producing hit records for artists like Ja Rule, DMX, Ashanti, and Jay-Z. Gotti’s production credits include chart-toppers such as “Always On Time,” “Foolish,” and “What’s Luv?”
Beyond his production work, Gotti was known for his keen eye for talent, discovering and nurturing artists who went on to become superstars. His contributions helped pave the way for future generations of artists and producers, reshaping the soundscape of hip-hop and R&B.
While Jalen Green himself did not have a direct relationship with Gotti, the producer played a huge role in the career of his girlfriend Draya.

Jalen Green Talks Houston Rockets in Trade Deadline
In a recent interview, Jalen Green talked about how the Houston Rockets have not played much with trades this season.
“I think I’m good,” Green said. “I mean number two in the West, number three now. We’ve held our ground pretty much the whole season, so I don’t think we need to add nothing or subtract nothing. I think we just got to get back to being ourselves.”

While the Rockets may be content with what they have right now, the same cannot be said for other franchises in the league. The best example this season would be the shocking trade between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks, which saw Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis swap teams.
“I didn’t believe it,” Green said about the trade deal. “Bro’s texting me saying Luka to the Lakers. I was like ‘nah, ain’t no (freaking) way.’ So I was surprised about that one, especially that he didn’t know. So it was like nobody’s safe.”

So far this season, Jalen Green is averaging 21.5 points per game, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.
