Sports analyst and commentator Stephen A. Smith was called out by fellow commentator Jason Whitlock, who he has a long-running feud with, as Whitlock mockingly remarked that Stephen A. is “afraid” of him.
In one of the live broadcasts of the “Fearless” show, Jason Whitlock and his co-hosts discussed Stephen A. Smith’s rant on the “Talk with Flee” podcast, where the “First Take” host talked about the story of Skip Bayless not returning his calls. Stephen A. gave his perspective on the story but also touched on referring to a person who he described as “the devil incarnate,” who he would not answer any calls from.
The “Fearless” hosts caught on that he was referring to Jason Whitlock, who he has had a beef with for quite some time now. Whitlock found this “silly” and “hypocritical.”
“His whole deal about I’m the devil because I expose the truth about you?” Whitlock said. “The other thing I find hypocritical or silly or just interesting is because in a natural conversation if I was sitting here talking about yeah there’s one person I won’t return their calls or as friends you’re natural as, who you talking about?

“But like holy cow, these guys are afraid of me—that was what I heard.”
Stephen A. Smith Gives Honest Opinion on Skip Bayless: “Live With That”
During his podcast guest appearance with Cam’ron, Stephen A. Smith did not miss the chance to express his emotions to one person as well, someone he described as “the devil incarnate.”
“There’s only one person that I won’t pick up the phone for,” he said. “Everybody knows who that person is, that no-good, sorry ass. Everybody knows who that is. I don’t have [to] say his name. Outside of that one human being on the planet Earth, who I think is the human incarnation of the devil, everybody knows anybody else calls me, I’mma pick up the phone.”
Stephen A. Smith reveals he doesn’t have a relationship with Skip Bayless and says he picked up the phone on several occasions and called him, but Skip never called him back.

Stephen A. went on to express that he has accepted Skip’s decision on the matter.
“Our relationship goes back too long right for me not to get a call from you when I called you and so when you made that decision, cool, live with your decision. I wish you nothing but the best. I hope he gets back whatever makes [him] happy, I’m hopeful it happens for him.”
Stephen A. Smith appears in various ESPN programs, such as “First Take.”
