Seattle Storm guard Jewell Loyd requested to be traded out of the team, according to sources. The timing of the request made the move more interesting as it closely followed the news of bullying and harassment that allegedly happened within the team.
The report came from the Chicago Sun-Times, as sources confirmed to the outlet that Loyd had requested a trade and wanted out of the Storm.
Loyd was Seattle Storm’s first overall pick for the 2015 WNBA draft and was named Rookie of The Year.
The news of Loyd making a trade request came shortly after someone from inside Seattle Strom allegedly revealed the results of an internal investigation that alleged the bullying and harassment from within the team. According to the source, there was no indication of such violations found.
“The Storm recently received internal allegations of potential workplace policy violations,” the source told ESPN. “The organization retained an outside investigator to conduct an impartial investigation into the allegations. The investigation has been completed and there were no findings of policy violations or any discrimination, harassment, or bullying.”
However, beyond that, Storm declined to provide any further details or comment on the matter but assured that it aims to work to keep a work environment with respect.
The statement continued: “To protect the integrity of the process, and to preserve confidentiality, we chose not to comment while the investigation was ongoing. The Storm will continue to provide a work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect.”
In a separate report, ESPN also confirmed that a source close to the matter that it was Jewell Loyd who made the anonymous report that triggered the entire issue going public.
At the height of the issue of the alleged investigation, the Sun-Times revealed that the WNBA confirmed to them that the league is aware of a team being investigated, but declined to touch on the investigation reasons or confirm who the team was.
Where Can Jewell Loyd Go? Fans Pick Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky
As news of Jewell Loyd wanting to trade out broke, fans were quick to take to social media their suggestions and insights on where she needs to go, and the consensus seems to agree on one thing: she should join Angel Reese on the Chicago Sky.
In a post, one fan gave three reasons why the Sky should sign Loyd: the Sky needs a guard, they need a veteran in their roster, and they have two top-10 picks.
Here’s three reasons why Jewell Lloyd to Chicago makes too much sense:
1. Chicago needs a guard
2. Chicago needs a VETERAN voice in the locker room
3. Chicago has TWO picks in the top 10 (#3, #10)It’s all there for the Sky, plus the Storm may be heading into a rebuild too.

Another fan said all it would take is for Angel Reese to call for Jewell Loyd joining, and it would be as good as a done deal.
Here’s the thing though. If Angel Reese wants Jewell Loyd in Chicago then Jewell Loyd gon be in Chicago.
