Anthony Davis has been in the NBA for more than a decade now, but despite not being short on achievements, he also has his constant share of criticisms and doubters, especially about how far he can go with his plays. But Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick thinks people expect too much and that he has been doing a stellar job thus far.
Davis is not short of of achievements and awards within the NBA: he is a nine-time NBA All-Star, four-time All-NBA First Team, and three-time NBA All-Defensive First Team, among other accolades. Just this season alone, AD has an average of 32.6 points per game, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists.
In an interview prior to their recent match with the Detroit Pistons, LA Lakers head coach JJ Redick was asked what Anthony Davis could do more when it comes to his play, mainly to silence long-time doubters. Redick slams the topic, pointing out that naysayers will always have something to say.
“People always want more from Anthony Davis,” he said. “The guy can have 30 [points] and 12 [rebounds] and people want more from him. It’s just always been a thing with him when he’s been with the Lakers. That’s a fact.”
JJ Redick when asked what AD could possibly do more of both ends of the floor: “People always want more from Anthony Davis.”
Redick added: “The guy can have 30 and 12 and people want more from him. … It’s just always been a thing with him when he’s been with the Lakers. That’s…

In a previous interview during the start of the season, Redick stated how Davis has been benefitting from the team’s increased ball movment, giving him better and more scoring opportunities.
“It’s a testament to how we envisioned our offense. The ball is going to find our best players,” Redick said. “The ball is going to find AD if we play the way we want to play, and then we always look for ways to feature him with a set call.”
Anthony Davis: Delivering Amazing Play Despite Injury
Anthony Davis has been put under “probabale” for the mos6t recent injury report of the Lakers prior to the Pistons match. With this in mind, this meant that Davis took the court despite not being in 100% condition. Despite being evidently in pain by mid-game, he still pushed through and had been a huge factor in the Lakers staying competitive.
Despite ultimately losing, Davis still finished the game with 37 points on 13-of-23 shooting and nine rebounds. With an upcoming game against the Memphis Grizzlies this Wednesday, Anthony Davis can hopefully be in better condition for another amazing play.
