Orlando Magic forward and known Republican supporter Jonathan Isaac gave a shout-out to The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh following the release of his “Am I Racist?” docufilm.
In a post on X, Isaac shared his praises for Walsh’s documentary that takes a shot at the rising diversity, equity, and inclusivity (DEI) movement. The Magic’s key defender found hilarity in the film as it made fun of “anti-racist ideologies.”
“Gotta take the hit and shout out The Daily Wire film ‘Am I Racist?’” Isaac posted. “We can agree that racism is a terrible evil that still exists in the hearts of people of every shade AND laugh at the lunacy of many modern anti-racism folks and ideologies! Let your hair down and go laugh lol white, black, and in-between. They did a good job!”
As a member of the Republican party, Jonathan Isaac has been outspoken about his battle with the “woke movement.” He was the only player during the NBA bubble to stand up during the national anthem while everyone else kneeled in support of the “Black Lives Matter” movement, stirring controversy as a result. While Isaac did not agree with the BLM movement, he does acknowledge that Black lives matter and he’ll do everything to support Black people.
“I believe that Black lives matter. A lot went into my decision. … It’s my thought that kneeling or wearing a ‘Black Lives Matter’ T-shirt don’t go hand in hand with supporting black lives.,” said Isaac, who is a Christian conservative. “I feel like Black lives are supported through the gospel, all lives are supported through the gospel. And we all have things that we do wrong and sometimes it gets to a place of pointing fingers about who’s wrong is worse.”
Isaac was also one of a handful NBA players who did not take the vaccine during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jonathan Isaac has his own Christian clothing brand
In his campaign against the “woke movement,” Jonathan Isaac launched his own clothing brand called UNITUS last year. The brand’s “about” page describes it as “not just a premium Christian apparel—it’s a global movement for positive change.”
“When we do give our money to companies that don’t support our values, we’re cosigning their message. So, what I wanted to do was give Americans—freedom-loving Americans, faith-loving Americans—the option to buy with their values,” Isaac told Fox News last year.
UNITUS offers a variety of clothing that isn’t limited to shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, sweatshorts, and crewnecks. The brand also launched the “Judah” signature shoes, named after Isaac’s second name (Jonathan Judah Isaac).
