Golden State Warriors power forward Jonathan Kuminga had been a constant name in the rumor mill for trade speculations, and his latest post on social media did not help extinguish those rumors, but rather only fueled the speculation that he might be getting traded out of the Warriors soon.
In his Instagram post, Kuminga posted a photo of himself in various play moments and his jersey number with the Warriors, 00. He simply captioned it with peace sign emojis, but what made fans speculate on the hidden meaning of the post was the choice of background music.

Kuminga accompanied his photo with the song “Show Me the Way” by Papa Wemba. The song is an emotional piece that tells the story of someone who is trying to find his way in life and looking for guidance. The central theme of the song is the single pleading for guidance as he is unsure where to go in life.
Naturally, fans connected this to the long-rumored trade involving him. Names of potential destination teams have been dropped, as well as names of players the Warriors may want in exchange for him. As the trade deadline nears, fans will soon see the fate of Jonathan Kuminga’s tenure with the Warriors.
Steve Kerr Throws Shade at “Selfish Players” as Jonathan Kuminga Trade Speculations Intensifies
Gold State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr recently gave a statement in a press conference that reignited Jonathan Kuminga trade rumors, as fans were quick to connect his anonymous comment to be pointed straight to the young player.
“When you have Steph Curry on your team, you pass the ball,” Kerr said. “Because pass it two or three times, the defense is scrambling, all hell breaks loose. So it’s a choice: We can either do that and win games, or we can shoot a whole bunch of 15-foot contested shots in the middle of the shot clock and be a lousy NBA team. It’s up to us, and we are hammering that point home with our team.”

While the head coach did not drop any names, fans were able to find a game clip that may have been the exact play that Kerr talked about, and the center of the attention was Kuminga.
So far this season, Kuminga is averaging 15.2 points per game, 4.5 rebounds, and shoots 44.4% of field shots, and 31% from beyond the arc. He plays an average of 23.8 minutes per game and has played 22 games so far.
