The OKC Thunder had one of the most interesting off-seasons across the NBA by adding Isaiah Hartenstein to boost their interior defense. Days after the signing, Josh Hart is still showing some saltiness about the departure of his former New York Knicks teammate, jokingly suggesting that there was some sort of tampering that happened and wanting the league to check the legalities.
In a recent post on X, Josh Hart showed an Oklahoma property that is valued at $17,250,000. Along with the 19,000 square foot lot, it features a 70,000-gallon pool with a slide, grotto, full outdoor kitchen, multiple bar areas, a golf driving balcony and a basketball court, among others.
The former Villanova Wildcat jokingly captioned the X post, tagging the NBA to investigate the deal that sent Hartenstein to the Thunder.
“The Thunder told Zay they will get him this… investigate @NBA,” Hart posts.
Hartenstein’s new contract with the Thunder is valued at $87 million for three years. Hart subliminally suggests that his former Knicks teammate is one of the few people who can afford this home and jokingly implies that the Thunder used this property as a bargaining chip.
In Hartenstein’s last season with the Knicks, he averaged 7.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks during the regular season. More important is his performance during the playoffs, doing 8.5 points and 7.8 rebounds filling in for Julius Randle who was out due to a season-ending injury.
Isaiah Hartenstein excited to be paired up with Chet Holmgren
The OKC Thunder was one of the teams that made a huge jump in the 2023–24 season and they are looking forward to going a step further in their hopes of winning the city’s first NBA championship. In doing so, this team was able to pick up Hartenstein in free agency.
This move helps unload some of the interior work that the Thunder requires Chet Holmgren to do and, at the same time, makes them bigger to be able to compete better in the frontcourt against the likes of the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves.
Setting the expectations, Hartenstein is already looking forward to working with Holmgren and polishing their chemistry inside the basketball court.
“I think, high-IQ player. I think he’s very skilled. I think we can play really good together. Defensively, having two of the top rim protectors on the court at the same time, it’s not easy. But I’m really excited,” said Hartenstein during his OKC Thunder media availability.
Along with Holmgren, Hartenstein will be teaming up with MVP contender Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams. The Thunder also traded Josh Giddey for Alex Caruso from the Chicago Bulls, adding another defensive player to their stacked roster.
