New York Knicks shooting guard Josh Hart took to social media to make a last-effort move with the hope of convincing MLB star Juan Soto to stay with the New York Yankees, as Soto reached free agent status during the end of the 2024 MLB season.
Amidst the hot rumors of Soto being in talks with the Yankees and the Mets in what was reported to be a historic MLB deal in the making, Hart took to X his message to Soto. As a player for the New York Knicks and a long-time Yankees fan, it was obvious which franchise he was rooting for Soto to sign a deal with.
“Still Go Yanks!” Hart said in his post.

Juan Soto eventually signed with the Mets, in a deal that broke all records not only in MLB but in all of sports. His deal with the Mets was reportedly to be at $765, making it the biggest contract in the history of sports.
One user on X likened Juan Soto’s move to the Mets to Kevin Durant’s moving to the Phoenix Suns in the NBA.
“Juan Soto to the Mets in NBA terms is like KD going to the Suns—an elite scorer landing on a team trying to level up to championship contention,” the user post said

.
Others likened the move to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s move to the Milwaukee Bucks, as he led the Bucks to their first-ever NBA title in three decades. He also proved to be a strong scoremaker, making 50 points for the Bucks during the game that won his team the 2021 NBA championship.
Josh Hart Talks NBA Contract: “There’s No Privacy”
In a recent episode of The Roommates Show podcast, where Josh Hart is a co-host, Yankees star Anthony Volpe appeared as a guest and talked with the hosts about a wide range of topics. Eventually, the topic went to be about NBA contracts, and Hart had something to say about the state of NBA contracts and how information has become more accessible than ever.
“Everybody just wants to know everything,” Hart said about contracts in the league. “There’s no more privacy in it. It’s like it’s weird because like anyone can Google whatever, I guess you just kinda get used to it.”
True to his statement, even the recent historic contract of Juan Soto with the Mets was first reported as a rumor and was later on “confirmed” by media, citing anonymous industry sources.
Josh Hart, so far this season, has averaged 13.9 points per game, 8.6 rebounds, and 5.7 steals.
