As expected, Kansas basketball defeated the Furman Paladins at home on Saturday via an 86-51 score. Senior forward KJ Adams Jr. led the way for the Jayhawks with 22 points on a stellar 10-for-12 shooting from the field. He also added six rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block in 27 minutes.
However, there was another Jayhawk, who grabbed the attention of head coach Bill Self despite the player’s limited run on the floor versus the Paladins.

“Flory’s been really good. He goes after the ball…he can do some things athletically that nobody else can”

Kansas basketball freshman Flory Bidunga starting to turn heads
Bidunga may not have as big of a role in Kansas as the likes of Adams and Hunter Dickinson, but he’s been providing quality performance when given the chance to see action.
By the time March rolls around, the freshman from Congo could have a much bigger responsibility for Kansas, which is undefeated through seven games in the 2024-25 college basketball season, including five wins against Big 12 schools.
When Dickinson was ejected from last Tuesday’s game against the Duke Blue Devils due to a flagrant-2 foul, Bidunga was among those called to cover the void left by the senior and he responded nicely to the challenge. In that game, Bidunga had six points, eight rebounds, a steal plus a block in only 16 minutes.
Bidunga could shine anew this coming Wednesday when Kansas basketball plays the Creighton Bluejays at CHI Health Center Omaha in Omaha.
