The Kansas Jayhawks secured the 87-57 win over the Howard Bison, but the talk of the game involved one specific player.
Transfer guard AJ Storr left the Wisconsin Badgers basketball team after an incredible year individually on the offensive side of the ball. Storr started all 36 games for the Badgers last season, recording 16.8-points per game, 3.9 rebounds, and 0.9 assists. The guard has long been an offensive presence, but if now on his third college in as many years due to NIL opportunities.
Storr originally transferred into the Wisconsin Badgers program after starting 17 games for St. Johns and scoring 8.8-points per game. The guard was the heart of the Wisconsin offense, but after a quick bounce from the NCAA Tournament, Storr was gone. Storr originally entered the NBA Draft before rescinding his name and entering the NCAA transfer portal instead.
However, after the guard decided to transfer to the Kansas Jayhawks, many college basketball fans expected Storr to become a starter. After starting 53 games in his career, however, Storr appears to be part of the second-unit for the Jayhawks at this point in time.
AJ Storr leaving Wisconsin to go play 15 minutes a game is hilarious

Coach Bill Self commented earlier this year on Storr, and stated that the team has “confused” the player after changing his “aggressiveness” driving. The guard used to have full creative abilities on offense with the Badgers, but has now entered a system that plays a different style of basketball. The adjustment for Storr appears to be much more of an issue that many originally felt it would be.
Interesting Q from @GaryBedore and A from Bill Self on AJ Storr.
“I think I have AJ messed up at the moment because he doesn’t know what aggressive looks like.”
I think it’s pretty good perspective on Storr’s acclimation to the #KUbball program. pic.twitter.com/I32sLWxStR

Will AJ Storr Start For the Kansas Jayhawks, or Will Storr Come Deep Off of The Bench?
While it has only been one game for AJ Storr and the Kansas Jayhawks, the guard could be a bench player for the majority of the season.
During the win over Howard, the Kansas Jayhawks staff played five guards more minutes than they played Storr. The guards that Storr would theoretically have to beat out for minutes would be South Dakota State transfer Zeke Mayo and 111-game starter Dajuan Harris Jr. Other guards to watch are fellow transfers David Coit and Rylan Griffen.
Arguably the top player in the way of Storr is Mayo, who averaged 18.8-points per game last season and scored 19-points in his Jayhawks debut. Mayo is an excellent scorer, and also an accomplished rebounder on the defensive end who is currently the sixth-man. As long as Mayo is playing well, Storr will have to play even better in order to find playing time.
Outside of Mayo, Harris Jr, Coit, and Griffen are all starters for the team and serve different purposes for the Kansas Jayhawks. Harris Jr is a distributor and the veteran the rest of the team looks towards to run the offense, which likely rules out Storr taking over his position. Coit and Griffen as both successful players, with Coit averaging 20.8-points per game last season with NIU and Griffen being an excellent perimeter defender.
