Indiana Fever superstar, Caitlin Clark, recently gave a much-anticipated interview to TIME magazine which crowned her ‘Athlete of the Year 2024’. The interview, filled with juicy deets about Clark’s personal and professional life, shed light on many aspects that fans and followers might not be aware of.
Many of Clark’s former teammates from her Iowa Hawkeyes days came forward to spill some tea on the athlete’s college basketball era. Apparently, apart from basketball and golf, Clark is also an avid singer. Although her voice might not be as melodious, Clark has not shied away from using her pipes to showcase many tunes.
Kate Martin, with whom Clark played in the Hawkeyes, had the honor of being the only audience when the Indiana star decided to belt out a few choice numbers. Martin was a guest at Clark’s Indianapolis’ apartment when she played for the Las Vegas Aces. There, Clark broke out the karaoke machine and decided to sing a few Luke Combs songs just for her.

“She’s not a good singer at all,” Kate Martin said to TIME magazine.
While Caitlin Clark is certainly aware that she is not blessed with the best voice, she continues to sing loud and proud. When she was a rookie, Clark was tasked with wishing players for their big day by singing ‘Happy Birthday’. However, Clark decided to do even this in her own style, according to Temi Fagbenle. Fagbenle went on to rate Clark’s voice a decent 7.5/10.

While she truly deserves the title, certain players and fans have speculated that the Indiana Fever guard only got it because she has ‘white privilege’. Surprisingly, Clark did address this in the interview with TIME magazine, and confessed that “as a white person, there is privilege”.
