Kawhi Leonard, a Los Angeles Clippers player, has not played since an injury last season. Leonard fans are eagerly waiting for the player to return, but there has not been any positive update until recently. According to a post shared by Joey Linn, who is an insider for the Los Angeles Clippers, Leonard seems to have been successful in a five-on-five practice.
As of now, the Clippers are seventh in the Western Conference after winning 17 games and losing 13 so far this season. In their most recent matchup, Los Angeles played against the Memphis Grizzlies and won the game, 114-110. Currently, the team is riding a four-game winning streak, and is eager to add more wins to the list.
“Ty Lue says Kawhi Leonard had another successful five on five practice today but will not play tomorrow. He needs more five on five before returning,” Linn tweeted on X.

Clearly, Kawhi Leonard is on a positive track for his recovery, but will not be returning to play any time soon. Leonard fans will have to practice a lot more patience to see the 33-year-old player perform again on the hardwood floor.

As of now, Leonard will continue to stay with the San Diego Clippers and work on his training, rather than travel with the team for their road trip. In the previous season, Leonard managed to average 23.7 points in each game, with 6.1 boards and 3.6 helpers in every clash played.
Rookie Jordan Miller Says Kawhi Leonard Is Still Playing Like His Old Self
Even if Kawhi Leonard has been out of the game for some time, he still plays like his old self as per rookie player Jordan Miller. Miller recently told reporters that Leonard has been showing up really well in practice, and can be seen performing like he usually does. This indicates that Leonard has almost fully recovered from his injury.

However, there has been no official green signal from the team, with coach Ty Lue recently coming out to say that there will be plenty of time before Leonard makes it to a game again. Apparently, Miller is a major fan-boy of Leonard and is amazed at how the player handles the ball during practice. According to Miller, “Kawhi is Kawhi”, and has not “lost a step at all”.

Leonard is currently recovering from an injury in his right knee. The injury was first detected when he went to the Team USA Olympics camp. After his injury was detected, Leonard was immediately sent home and has not played ever since.
