Phoenix Suns power forward Kevin Durant should be traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder for a reunion. At least, that is what analyst and sports broadcaster Stephen A. Smith thinks.
In one of the NBA Countdown segments, Stephen A. Smith shared his insights on why the OKC should gun for Kevin Durant and bring him back to his original home.
“If you’re the OKC Thunder, you’re damn right you better (trade for Kevin Durant),” Stephen A. said. “Let me tell you why. They can’t even use all the damn assets. You can give away four or five first-round picks and still have a boatload of picks you’re the OKC Thunder.”

“There is no question (Durant) can fit into any system. There is no question, he is not a downgrade, he’s not a minus, he is an additive, he is a plus.”
Kevin Durant was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics as the second overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, and the team relocated to Oklahoma City in 2008, becoming the Thunder. Durant played for OKC from 2008 to 2016 and had a highly successful tenure with the team.
During his time with the Thunder, Durant achieved numerous highlights and accolades. He won the NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in 2014 and was a four-time NBA scoring champion (2010, 2011, 2012, 2014).

Durant also led the Thunder to the NBA Finals in 2012, where they faced the Miami Heat. Although they didn’t win the championship, Durant’s performance was outstanding and he was recognized as one of the top players in the league at the time.
Will Phoenix Trade Kevin Durant in The Offseason?
In a new report by league insider Shams Charania, Kevin Durant was suggested to be potentially shopped around for a trade in the coming offseason.
“Unless there’s a significant run into the playoffs for the Phoenix Suns, league sources believe that there will be real changes in Phoenix coming to the Suns,” Charania said. “From a roster standpoint, that likely starts with Kevin Durant.”

“This offseason…what it would look like is that the Suns and Durant would work together on any potential trade to a contender in a trade scenario. And I would expect 4-6 contending teams with some serious involvement in Durant.”

So far this season, Kevin Durant is averaging 26.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. His shooting efficiency has been remarkable, with a field goal percentage of 53.0%, a three-point percentage of 40.6%, and a free throw percentage of 88.1%.
