The Phoenix Suns bet that Kevin Durant was the ticket that would lead them to an NBA Finals victory when they traded for the aging superstar in February of 2023. The Suns are expected to trade Durant away after a season they’re fighting just to make a Play-In Tournament appearance.
At 36, Durant is no longer in his prime but he’s still capable of playing basketball at an elite level. He made his 15th All-Star appearance in February. He’s also leading the Suns in points per game at 26.9 ppg. The No. 2 pick in 2007 is adding 6.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.
While those stats are impressive for a 36-year-old, not everyone is giving Durant credit.
Skip Bayless took a shot at Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant

Skip Bayless took a shot at Durant on his show, saying he looks semi-retired.
“The more I watch him at age 36, the more he [KD] looks mentally semi-retired to me,” Bayless said.

In a post on X from Durant that has since been deleted, the star asked Bayless what he meant by “mentally semi-retired.
“Mentally semi-retired. One u skip Stan’s, explain what that means like I’m in 3rd grade please,” Durant posted.

Durant then posted that he and Bayless were washed.
“(Expletive) it. We’re both washed, it was a a great run,” Durant posted.
Durant used to be leading teams on long playoff runs. Bayless used to give his opinions on ESPN and Fox Sports.
For what it’s worth, Durant is aging better on the court than Bayless is on X.
