Kevin Garnett, former NBA champion with the Boston Celtics and now a high-profile analyst, is in the spotlight for off-court drama. According to TMZ Sports, Garnett was involved in a heated argument with his girlfriend, Teare Candelier, on April 27, prompting her to call 911 at their Los Angeles home. While details were scarce, reports confirmed the dispute wasn’t physical and that Garnett was allegedly trying to leave to avoid escalation.
The couple later addressed the incident with a joint statement:
“We deeply regret that a personal disagreement escalated and inappropriately involved authorities,” they said. “It was never our intention to involve others in a moment that should have remained private… our commitment to each other remains strong, and we move forward with renewed respect, understanding, and love.”
With things cooling off, Garnett can refocus on the NBA playoffs, where his Celtics are making another strong push. After taking care of the Orlando Magic in five games, Boston now preps for a classic clash against the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Semis.

Meanwhile, Kevin Garnett’s first NBA team—the Timberwolves—also advanced, knocking out the Lakers. If the Celtics and Wolves both reach the Finals, it’ll be interesting to see where KG’s heart lies.

Celtics Hall of Famers Garnett and Pierce provide contrasting comments on Playoffs Tatum
Jayson Tatum has led the Boston Celtics past the Orlando Magic on course to their NBA Eastern Conference semifinals this season, and while 2008 NBA MVP Paul Pierce had a lot of praise for Tatum, his former teammate Kevin Garnett had something else to say about his performance.

During the KG Certified podcast, Garnett and fellow Celtics legend Paul Pierce had differing takes on Jayson Tatum’s postseason play. Pierce called Tatum the “best player playing the best in the playoffs,” but KG credited the team around him:
“You got to take into account… he on a hellafire team,” Garnett said. “This Boston team… that starting five with Holiday, White—come on bro, that’s got to count for something.”

Still, Tatum’s been showing out—dropping 35-8-10 in his last game. He’ll need more of that as Boston looks to keep Banner 18 within reach.
