If fans are getting impatient about a Khris Middleton return for the ailing Milwaukee Bucks, so are the team officials.
NBA Insider Shams Charania revealed that the Bucks organization are surprised with how long Middleton has been gone for them as the team is off to a terrible start, losing six straight games, tie for the worst record in the league with Utah Jazz.
Charania said there is still no timetable for the return of Khris Middleton.
“Khris Middleton, his absence has been deafening for this team,” said Charania during an appearance at Sports Center.
“He’s been out an indefinite period of the time all season. It’s still uncertain when he’s going to be be back. He has yet to be cleared for 5 on 5 scrimmaging. The Bucks have felt throughout training camp that he was a week away, two weeks ago. Team officials have recognized that this is taking much longer than they anticipated. There was an idea that maybe he was going to be back a couple of weeks ago, but he still has not been.”
An NBA analyst suggested that the Bucks need a third option and that is Middleton. However, with the way things are going, looks like they will be forced to squeeze everything out from Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.
Khris Middleton return gets positive update
Middleton, who has been with the Bucks since 2013, is not the type to be always out on public.
He still tried to calm down fans this week when he told Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that he is feeling better each day.
“I feel good, just not good enough to play that’s all,” he said.
“That’s really all I can say at this point. And just working to get back on the court. I’m feeling better and better each day just not good enough to play yet.”
Middleton played just 55 games for the Bucks last season and only 33 games the season before. He was there for the Bucks in all their 2024 playoffs game and averaged 24.7 points to match his career high playoff ppg.
