Kiyan Anthony, son of NBA legend Carmelo Anthony, had a fine performance against his father’s high school team on Wednesday. Kiyan’s Long Island Lutheran High School played against Oak Hill Academy, and his mother La La had a great time watching her son play, sharing his achievement on her Instagram story.
Kiyan’s defenders could not stop his aggressive offense. He led his team to a comeback victory over Oak Hill, finishing the game with 25 points. His dad, who played for Oak Hill before moving to Syracuse, took a seat close to the court to support his son.

Meanwhile, La La couldn’t express enough how proud she is of her son’s performance as she posted on her Instagram. “(Kiyan) went crazy today!” she said in her caption.
Kiyan Anthony is part of the 2025 recruitment class and will play for his dad’s former college team. Melo’s son announced in November 2024 that he’d be committing to Syracuse University, coming a step closer to achieving his NBA dream.

Kiyan Anthony’s next chapter makes his mom La La Anthony sad
Kiyan Anthony has expressed his goal to make it in the big leagues, and he is taking specific steps to fulfill his dream. After high school, the next step for him is to further hone his skills in college.
On Sunday, Kiyan’s mother La La Anthony had an interview with YouTuber Jazmyn Summers where she shared her feelings regarding her son’s next moves. She admitted feeling sad whenever she thinks about Kiyan moving out to Syracuse for his college studies.

“I’m super excited for his journey and this next part of his journey,” La La said. “But as a mom, you never want your kid to leave the house. It just happens so quickly.”

Kiyan’s mom added, “I’m still young. I’m like, I’m going to be in this house by myself. I get sad about that, but I am super excited for him and his journey, you know, as a college student, as a college athlete, just as a young man, stepping into his own, like, there’s nothing that I’m more proud of.”

Turning 18 in a couple of days, Kiyan was enrolled at Christ the King Regional High School before he transferred to Long Island Lutheran High School, where he is now in his senior year. He is ranked as one of the top shooting guards in the class of 2025 by ESPN.
