Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson shared one of the best Vince Carter tributes following the former NBA high-flying superstar’s Toronto Raptors jersey retirement on Saturday.
Thompson, who is playing in his first season with the Mavericks, posted a couple of Instagram Stories to show his appreciation for “Half Man, Half Amazing” on Sunday.

“Huge congrats to Vince,” Thompson wrote on an IG Story showing Carter during his jersey retirement. “One of the greatest ever and did so much for the game. Every kid who was lucky enough to watch him would try to jump like him and were quick to find out that was nearly impossible lol.”
In another IG Story post, Thompson recalled the time when his mother bought him the iconic Nike Shox, which Carter endorsed.
“One of the best days ever when my mom got me the shox for bball season. Vinsanity forever!” Thompson wrote.

Because of Carter’s legendary longevity, Thompson was able to play several seasons against the former NBA Slam Dunk champion. Carter lasted an amazing 22 years in the NBA, a record that had just been tied by Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.
Thompson likely wouldn’t be able to play as long as Carter did in the league, but he’s still going strong. He is now in his 14th season in the league, though, that also includes the two seasons he missed due to major injuries.
