If you are looking for Klay Thompson stats and expecting to see numbers similar to what he had when he last wore the Golden State Warriors uniform, get ready to be disappointed as the new Dallas Mavericks guard showed out in his debut.

Thompson played like his old self again on his first official NBA game as part of the Mavs, scoring 22 points and grabbing seven rebounds. The defender Klay is back, too, as he recorded three steals in the game.
To top it off, he just set the record for most threes in a debut by a Mavs player by going six out of 10 from beyond the arc.

“I couldn’t ask for a better start, sharing the floor with Ky, Luka, and the rest of the guys. It is very special after a hard month of really good work. That to see it all come to fruition is awesome,” he said during post-match interview when asked about his spirit on his way to a great game.
“It’s just a small step of where we want to go.”
Klay Thompson stats, chemistry with Luka Doncic
Thompson’s production is probably the story of the night for the Mavs but one thing that can’t go unnoticed is his chemistry with Luka Doncic who himself was sensational against the Spurs and Victor Wembanyama.
Doncic scored 28 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and assisted in 10.

The 2024 MVP finalist lauded his new teammate for the way he played saying Thompson made the game easier for him, too.
“Knocking down a lot of shots, and he was moving out there. Played great defense too…It’s easy to play with a guy like that. It makes your life easier…It makes the whole team’s life easier.”
