Kyrie Irving’s brutal ACL injury was a huge blow to Dallas Mavericks fans. Irving was dearly missed on the court, and fans eagerly await his return. Irving landed in an awkward position and injured his left knee while playing against the Sacramento Kings.

The point guard underwent surgery, but it was certainly hard to return for the rest of the season. The Mavericks think that Irving will return only in 2026. However, NBA insider Shams Charania gave a potential timeline for Irving’s return.

“Kyrie Irving’s return. That’s the big question now, and the expectation around the Dallas Mavericks is that he will be available for hopefully a good chunk of next season. There’s optimism that he will be back by January, and he’s got a $44M player contract. That’s the next situation Nico Harrison and the Mavericks must deal with. The goal for the Mavericks is to rip up his player option and give him a three-year deal,” Charania said.

The Mavericks need to work a few things out with Irving. First, he needs to recover and get back in shape before the end of this year. After which, they will take a call on the All-Star player. Irving recorded incredible numbers before suffering his devastating injury.

Kyrie Irving Shows Constant Support To His Teammates

Kyrie Irving has never failed to show constant support to his teammates, even when sidelined. Recently, he praised the team for their victory against the Sacramento Kings in the NBA Play-In Tournament.

Dallas finished as the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference. The Mavericks had a great run, winning with a final score of 120-106. Anthony Davis led his team with 27 points. After their victory, Kyrie Irving took to social media to share a message for his teammates.

“Yessir @dallasmavs way to handle business tonight!! MFFL Tribe, stay together no matter what,” Irving wrote on X.

It was a huge win for the Mavs even though they played on the road. Dallas has moved ahead to the next step and is up against the Memphis Grizzlies in their next battle. The Mavericks must win against the Grizzlies to secure a spot in the postseason. If they win against the Grizzlies, they will square off against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the playoffs.

Kyrie Irving continues to support his team and hopes to see them in the playoffs. The veteran is eager to get back in the game and make it to the playoffs next season.
