LA Clippers guard James Harden had quite a unique reaction following the arrest of rapper Lil Baby.

Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones, was arrested in Las Vegas on suspicion of carrying an unauthorized weapon. TMZ caught the moment of the arrest as the rapper badmouthed the police. His mugshot was soon released to the public, which many fans shared various reactions to.

Harden and Jones are close friends, hence why the 10-time NBA All-Star’s reaction to his friend’s arrest and the mugshot are interesting.

“CBFW,” Harden’s caption said on his Instagram story that featured his friend’s mugshot. The four letters mean “can’t be [expletive] with. It is also the title of a rap song by FTO Sett that had Lil Baby as featured guest performer.

The arrest wasn’t the first time, however. The 29-year-old rapper had served a two-year prison term for drug and weapons charges in 2014. He also had prior separate charges in 2012 and 2013.

According to TMZ, Jones claimed that he has a license for the gun he was seen carrying on the day he was arrested. He has not been formally charged with the crime, which is considered a felony in Nevada, but was able to walk free after posting a $5,000 bail. He is due to appear in court in Las Vegas on Oct. 1.

Lil Baby came to prominence in the rap scene for his 2017 mixtapes “Harder Than Hard” and “Too Hard.” His lead single “My Dawg” from his second-ever mixtape became his first Billboard Hot 100 entry.

James Harden and Lil Baby were together before the arrest

James Harden celebrated his 35th birthday on Monday, inviting some of his close friends to celebrate with him. Celebrities like Chris Brown and Travis Scott were in attendance, and his former teammate Kevin Durant also got an invite.

Rapper Lil Baby was also at the celebration, as seen in Harden’s photos on X.

“Last night I brought my birthday in with great fellowship,” the 2018 NBA MVP posted.

The artists took to the stage at Drais in Las Vegas, celebrating with Harden.

James Harden and Lil Baby have been together in their past birthday celebrations. In Lil Baby’s birthday celebration in 2020, Harden gave him $100,000 and a Richard Mille watch. Two years later, during the Clippers star’s birthday celebration in 2022, he was filmed giving the rapper $250,000 despite him being the celebrant.

The two’s friendship goes way back and it only seems to get stronger over the years.
