Lakers’ JJ Redick Reveals Plan to Recover From Debacle vs. Magic -‘That’s my therapy’

JJ Redick and the Los Angeles Lakers have some thinking to do following their stunning 119-118 loss at home Thursday night at the hands of Franz Wagner and the Orlando Magic.

The Lakers were riding a wave of momentum heading into the Orlando game, as they had won all of their six previous outings. But the Magic ended Los Angeles’ undefeated run, which sparks some questions about what the Lakers did wrong in that contest. Redick, for one, said that he intends to watch film.

Via Jovan Buha of The Athletic:

JJ Redick said he’s going to go to a “dark place” after the loss before clarifying he’s going to go his basement, turning off all the lights and rewatching film.

    “That’s my therapy,” Redick said.

JJ Redick is doing a fine job so far with the Lakers

Redick appears to be a student of the game. Although he had no prior coaching experience in an elevated level of basketball before he got the Lakers’ coaching gig, Redick is proving to be the right pick for LA to succeed Darvin Ham, who coached the team for just two seasons before getting fired.

Despite the loss to the Magic, Los Angeles is still looking good with a 10-5 record — good for fourth in the Western Conference and only 1.5 games back of the Golden State Warriors, who are the top team at the moment in the West.

The Lakers can get back on track as soon as this coming Saturday when they host the Denver Nuggets at crypto.com Arena.
