It took a while, but Luka Doncic is back to his usual ways with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers news surrounding him recently have been nothing but phenomenal.
The Slovenian superstar’s performance against the Dallas Mavericks this past week was noteworthy. However, his work over the past couple of games has made the mega deal that sent him to the City of Angels even more impressive.

His latest performance against the Los Angeles Clippers reminded everyone why he’s a worthwhile acquisition from the Mavericks. The game may have been closer than they liked due to Austin Reaves’ absence, but his showing against the team’s cross-town rivals have resulted in one analyst making a wild tweet about his performance.
Kendrick Perkins praised Luka Doncic’s epic performance in his first Battle of Los Angeles

Doncic is new to the dynamic of the cross-town rivalry between the Lakers and the neighboring Clippers. However, his performance in his first Battle of LA for the Purple and Gold was impressive.
He finished the 102-106 game with a game-high 31 points. While his shooting left a lot to be desired at 41%, his two rebounds, five assists, and three steals more than made up for his inaccuracies.
His play was phenomenal to the point that Kendrick Perkins felt it important enough to take to Twitter/X and rave about Doncic’s performance:
Luka still own the Clippers

While some would argue that Doncic’s win-loss record against the Clippers franchise leaves a lot to be desired, his stats against them still shows him as an overwhelming force.
Doncic was unstoppable whenever he faced the Clippers, averaging 32.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 1.5 steals on 48% shooting and 36% from deep in the 19 games he played against them.

The win puts the Purple and Gold in fourth in the Western Conference rankings, Lakers fans will be hoping that the good times continue coming with the sudden LeBron-Luka experiment throughout the season.
