The name of LA Lakers superstar LeBron James was brought up in Canadian rapper Drake’s legal battle with Universal Music Group. On Tuesday, a screenshot of the rapper’s conversations allegedly showing his mentions of the 20-time NBA All-Star has leaked on the internet.
A certain “Chris Blake Griffith” posted screenshots of Drake’s alleged conversation on his Instagram account. The “conversation” saw the R&B artist address his issues with UMG while mentioning James.
“Me and Universal is like if Nike was funding a campaign about LeBron cheating on his wife,” Drake allegedly said, as suggested by the screenshots. “Everybody before me that tried the label was too eccentric so they wrote them off as crazy and they never had to pay for their sins and mistakes.”

On Nov. 25, 2024, Drake, whose legal name is Aubrey Drake Graham, alleged in a court filing that UMG intentionally manipulated the popularity of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” on Spotify and other streaming platforms. Graham claimed that the companies violated the RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act with their illegal schemes. UMG, however, denied Drake’s allegations in a statement they released on the same day.
The following day, Graham filed another petition alleging a “defamatory pay-to-play system” between iHeartRadio and UMG.

In response to the Nov. 25 court filing, Spotify published documents on Dec. 20 that refuted Drake’s claims of any “arrangement” between them and UMG.
There has been an ongoing feud between Graham and Lamar, with both releasing diss tracks about each other.
Drake debunks leaked DM about LeBron James’s cheating accusations
The feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar has affected the friendship between the former and LeBron James. The LA Lakers superstar made it clear that he did not want to get involved with the feud, but he apparently switched sides to support Lamar, leading to speculations about Drake’s feelings toward the NBA star.
Tensions grew when screenshots of Drake’s alleged remarks about James’ unfaithfulness surfaced on social media courtesy of a certain Chris Blake Griffith. However, the rapper is now denying the authenticity of the screenshots.
A certain “DJ Akademiks” quote-posted the now-deleted screenshots on X, saying that those were all fabricated to smear Drake’s reputation.
“This is a fake DM,” DJ Akademiks wrote. “Drake called buddy (Griffith) a Rat. He got mad and made up some fake DM to try to make the blogs and go viral. End of story.”

In a following post, Akademiks revealed his source to be Drake himself. “Source: the boy.” he said.

The X user’s revelation makes sense, given that Drake has never publicly spoken ill of LeBron James or his family. However, it is not to say that things between the two are cool, since Drake unfollowed King James on Instagram after his feud with Lamar gained traction on social media.
