LeBron James and Bronny James were recently accused of not being respected for not giving respect to basketball according to Jason Whitlock. The sports columnist put out a tweet on the platform X, formerly called Twitter, that the two highly-notable players do not give the game the respect it deserves, and as a result current players do not respect them.
“He’s not respected because he and Bronny are disrespecting the game and everybody knows it,” he tweeted on Friday.
The tweet came as a response to LeBron James being shoved on the court by Ja Morant in a game between the Lakers and the Grizzlies on Wednesday. While this scenario ignited numerous conversations about players, sportsmanship and respect, one of the most surprising takes was Whitlock’s opinion that this was a sign that players simply do not respect LeBron James.

At the same time, Whitlock’s tweet may need to be taken with a pinch of salt since the columnist has been a constant critic of LeBron James and his career. The criticism did not end with LeBron, but also went to include his son, Bronny James, who was recently drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Last week, Bronny James and LeBron James were honored by the Cavaliers. This, along with the home team giving the game net to Bronny James for him scoring for the first time in the NBA, received the ire of James Whitlock who called the junior LeBron, Bronny ‘Make-a-Swish’ James.
LeBron James Taken To Spelling Court By Freddie Freeman For Spelling Name Wrong
Meanwhile, Freddie Freeman, the World Series MVP, recently pointed out a spelling error in LeBron James’ congratulatory tweet for him. LeBron James has long been a fan of baseball, and put out a post acknowledging Freeman’s fourth consecutive homer against the New York Yankees in the World Series.
However, James happened to spell Freddie as Freddy Freeman in the tweet. While he managed to spell his name correctly in a later tweet, Freeman still remembers the typo to this day. On a podcast episode with the Kelce brothers, Freeman was reminded of this, and pointed out that he is quite particular with how his name is spelled.
While LeBron James spelling Freeman’s name wrong may never be forgotten by the MVP, the first baseman for the Dodgers also appreciated King James’ respect and support for other players in other sports. Freeman went on to say that having the greatest basketball player of all time appreciate you means that you have done something really good.
