LeBron James got a jab from popular sports commentator Jason Whitlock once again called Bronny James Jr a “Make-A-Swish” kid of basketball and blamed LeBron’s parenting over it.
Over at X, Whitlock expressed his reaction to an SNL skit that poked fun at Bronny James. In the skit, “Trump was so far ahead they put in Bronny,” making a meme out of the young player and his apparent value to his team. Whitlock called out LeBron for making this out of his kid.
The skit earned multiple laugh reactions, at least on X.
This was not the first time that Whitlock has called out LeBron and likened the entry of Bronny James to the NBA to a PR stunt, which was the origin of the term he coined “Make-A-Swish.”
“This is reality TV, this isn’t competition,” Whitlock said in one of his videos. “This is ‘Make-A-Swish’ kid. LeBron James has turned his son into the ‘Make-A-Swish’ kid and they’re celebrating it. They get their butt kicked but after the game, LeBron has his ‘moment’ with Bronny in Cleveland. They’re in Cleveland, let’s bring our little ‘Make-A-Swish’ kid out and have him run around Cleveland on the basketball court like he’s done something, and like people in Cleveland give a damn about Bronny James.”
“LeBron James is celebrating a ‘Make-A-Swish’ kid,” he continued, eventually calling LeBron’s inclusion of Bronny as “destruction of the NBA”. “If you’ve ever been to a spring football game where they bring out a Make-A-Wish kid and let him score a touchdown, that’s what happened in Cleveland last night, and LeBron is smiling ear-to-ear as he continues to take a dump on real competition.”
LeBron James and Bronny James Father-and-Son NBA History
Earlier this October, LeBron James and son Bronny James made history in the NBA as the first father-and-on duo to play together on the court. This historic moment happened during the Lakers’ opening game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
LeBron was already 13 minutes into the game when he called in Bronny to join him, with only four minutes left in the quarter. The two played together for only more than two minutes, but the moment remained a huge milestone not only in the NBA but in professional sports.
LeBron James, four-time MVP and 20-time All-Star has long expressed his dream of teaming up with his son on the court one day. Eventually, after playing for college, The Los Angeles Lakers drafted him as the 55th overall pick for the 2024 NBA draft.
