LA Lakers superstar LeBron James has called out Kyrie Irving, believing in the popular “Twitter theory” about players resting in games prior to their matchup with the Lakers. The Dallas Mavericks star is scheduled to miss their game on Monday against the Memphis Grizzlies, with James saying that he is resting up for their game on Tuesday.
Lakers fans on social media noticed a common trend with several players who tend to miss game against other teams but are active when they are going up against the Purple and Gold. LeBron James has caught on with the trend and called the eight-time NBA All-Star out.
“Kyrie ain’t playing tomorrow, right?” King James said. “They [Mavericks’] do play tomorrow cause’ it’s a back-to-back, so Kyrie be ready (for us) and the rest of us guys be ready. It’ll be a good one.”

Irving is dealing with a suspicious illness that has also affected other Mavericks players and staff members in the past.
Currently, Irving is also the only player on the team’s injury report that might play against the Lakers on Tuesday. Luka Doncic is currently out for multiple weeks due to a calf injury, and Dante Exum is rehabilitating his surgically repaired wrist.
LeBron James and Kyrie Irving to play a crucial game for their respective teams
If Kyrie Irving is able to play on Tuesday, fans could expect a blockbuster game between the Dallas Mavericks and LeBron James’ LA Lakers. The Mavericks have lost four consecutive games and five of their last six. They are currently tied with the Lakers at 20-15, but that will change tomorrow after they take on the Grizzlies.
Meanwhile, the Lakers are looking to avoid a second consecutive loss after they were defeated by the Houston Rockets on Sunday. When they lose two games in a row, it usually results with them going on a slump.
However, Luka Doncic is confirmed to be unavailable for Tuesday’s game, and so the Lakers will likely be the favorites to win the matchup. Not only do the Lakers have a rest day prior to their matchup, but their opponents will be facing them on the second night of a back-to-back.
Also, if Irving is confirmed to play on Tuesday night, coach Jason Kidd will have to heavily rely on the star guard to carry his team, and the Lakers superstar can expect tough competition against a well-rested former NBA champion prior to their matchup.
