Los Angeles Lakers veteran star LeBron James recently went viral for confronting analyst and critic Stephen A. Smith over the latter criticizing his son, Bronny James. However, for one former Super Bowl Champion, the 40-year-old star may have gone too far and forgot one essential thing about how being a public figure works.
In his post on social media platform X, former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark talked about LeBron James defending his son Bronny from criticism, particularly with his recent encounter with analyst Stephen A. Smith. As a father, Clark said he understood where LeBron was coming from.
“I’m not LeBron, but I am a father; & I’m willing to die for mine,” Clark wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “I get approaching (Stephen A. Smith) as a father, but he wasn’t ‘only’ protecting his seed. He was speaking on behalf of another professional athlete who SAS is paid to analyze. Granted, Bronny gets criticized more than any other 55th pick of the draft, but he also gets more love, money, & opportunity than any other too thanks to his father’s greatness.”
Clark also referenced other fathers who have their own sons in sports, such as LaVar Ball and Tee Morant. Clark believed LeBron could pick up a thing or two from them in dealing with critics of Bronny.
“Even Pops on Friday said, ‘let him be a man,’ when Craig fought Debo,” Clark continued. “That’s what Bron has to do. Could you imagine the outrage if Lavar Ball ran up on the Biggest voice in sports?”
“I just don’t think it helped the narrative that Bronny is only there because he’s LeBron James Jr., & now what? He can’t be talked about?”

Stephen A. Smith Opens Up About Encounter With LeBron James
In the past week, Stephen A. Smith opened up about his face-to-face encounter with LeBron James, where the Lakers veteran confronted him over his criticisms about his son, Bronny.
“I’ve never, ever, ever been about being critical of Bronny,” Stephen A. said on one of his videos. “I don’t want to have a critical word about Bronny James at this stage of his career. It was never about Bronny. I wouldn’t do that to a kid. It was about his dad. And it wasn’t about his dad wanting him in the NBA. It’s about the things he said. And the things he maneuvered and manipulated in order to get his son to wear the same uniform as him.”
LeBron James has yet to respond back to Stephen A.’s latest statements.
