Should LeBron James have gone for being a “Ken ambassador,” or are there any better options if he wanted to be a kid’s toy? For one author and life coach, being a G.I. Joe figure could have been a better choice for the Los Angeles Lakers veteran.
In one of the recent episodes of his program “Fearless,” analyst and critic Jason Whitlock discussed the topic of LeBron James and his new Ken doll based on his likeness. In his program, Whitlock had author and life coach Shemeka Michelle as his guest, and she shared his honest opinion on the choice of the Laker veteran for his toy character.
“I think LeBron or any other man should want to do a G.I. Joe [instead of Ken],” Michelle said. “Because we all know GI Joe was Barbie’s original man. Until they started making G.I. Joe real little, they came in with this little passive Ken doll.”
“So you know, if any man wants to actually be represented, he should choose to be a GI Joe ambassador instead of a Ken ambassador—or whatever this foolishness is. Because GI Joe was the man and he was actually Barbie’s first man before they watered it down with Ken.”
However, Whitlock was not buying the suggestions and believed that being a GI Joe character would not be something LeBron James would sign up for.
“Not an option, when you’re a spokesman for China, to align yourself with a military action figure,” he said. “LeBron could be Antifa Joe or BLM Joe but GI Joe? Not an option.”

LeBron James Ken Doll Will Be a “House Husband,” Says Life Coach
In the same episode of the program, guest Shemeka Michelle also boldly predicted that the hype around the LeBron James Ken doll would eventually die down, and people will eventually see that the doll with the likeness of the NBA superstar may not be as big of a deal as people made it out to be.
“I don’t think this is as a big deal as they’re making it,” Michelle said. “You know I had a Marie Osman doll and I don’t even think I like Marie. It was just a doll. When little girls are playing Barbies, it’s their own imagination, so I feel like the actual person gets lost. They had an MC Hammer, [and] I don’t think anybody cared. The doll becomes what you make it.

Unlike LeBron James himself, who’s often lined up as one of the greatest athletes, his doll might not have the same greatness.
“So this LeBron doll will probably be a house husband, who knows? He’s just it, nobody cares.”

The LeBron James Ken doll can be bought for $75 a piece.
