Los Angeles Lakers veteran star LeBron James just had his own Ken doll made out of likeness. While fans and collectors find this news interesting, one life coach is not convinced that this new Ken doll is as big of a deal as the news reports make it out to be.
In one of the recent episodes of the program “Fearless,” analyst Jason Whitlock had author and life coach Shemeka Michelle shared her honest insight on the issue of LeBron James and a new Ken doll made based on his likeness.
According to Whitlock’s guest, the celebrated new toy is not as huge of a deal as people try to position it to be.
“I don’t think this is as a big deal as they’re making it,” Michelle said. “You know I had a Marie Osman doll and I don’t even think I like Marie. It was just a doll. When little girls are playing Barbies, it’s their own imagination, so I feel like the actual person gets lost. They had an MC Hammer, [and] I don’t think anybody cared. The doll becomes what you make it.
Ultimately, Michele thinks that the new Ken doll being based on the likeness of LeBron James won’t be that big of a deal.
“So this LeBron doll will probably be a house husband, who knows? He’s just it, nobody cares.”
She added: “So it’s always funny to me when it’s, ‘oh we hate white people, wait a white per person wants to celebrate us? Mattel is doing a doll? Oh great!’ Now it’s great, it’s wonderful. But I don’t think anybody cares you know for real it’s not that big of a deal.”

LeBron James Ken Doll Mirrors Real Life, Says Life Coach
In the same episode of the program, Shemeka Michelle also commended the choice of toy line for LeBron James. Although, with a little touch of sarcasm.
“I think for LeBron though this is great, you know,” she said. “Because Ken has always played second fiddle to Barbie and that’s just what he’s done to Michael Jordan or even Kobe Bryant. So I think this is great for him.”

But if anything, Michelle praised the LeBron Ken dool for having more hair than she expected it to have.
“I’m just glad they gave him hair on this Barbie [doll],” she said. “I was wondering if it was going to be bald in the middle, I wasn’t exactly sure but I like the doll.”

The LeBron James Ken doll will be available on Target, Amazon, and Mattel Creations for $75.
