Los Angeles Lakers star and 20-time NBA All-Star LeBron James expressed his honest opinion on the three-point problem of the NBA, as he admitted that the league has “a lot of threes” being shot.
In a press interview, LeBron James talked about the new format of the NBA All-Star game, which did a major overhaul when it comes to its rules and format. The change gained mixed reactions not only from fans but from the players themselves. LeBron had some suggestions in mind but refused to elaborate on it in front of the media. He did, however, acknowledge one problem of the league when it comes to playing games, which he described as something that is part of a ”bigger conversation.”
“We gotta do something,” James said. “Obviously the last couple [of] years have not been a great All-Star Game [and] that Sunday night. But I mean, listen, it’s a bigger conversation. It’s not just the All-Star Game.”

The problem of the NBA having too many three-point shots is not something that has not been raised before. Even legends and former players like Shaquille O’Neal have pointed out the issue of too many players making too many three-point shots making games less interesting to watch.
“I have a theory,” Shaq said. “[NBA ratings are] down because we’re looking at the same thing. Everybody’s running the same plays. At the damn top of the key, dribble handoff. I think everybody’s looking at the same thing. I think it makes the game boring.”

NBA Insider: No Lakers Championship Until LeBron James Leaves
LeBron James has been playing for the NBA for 22 years now and is currently in his 22nd season overall. He has won four NBA Championships, but it looks like he may not be in that caliber anymore, as an NBA insider claims that the Lakers may never be title contenders as long as LeBron is on the team.
In an anonymous interview with Heavy, an NBA insider who is “close to the matter” expressed their outlook on the future of the Lakers, particularly as long as they are relying on Lebron James.
“Until LeBron James leaves, it’s not going to be a good job, you know?” they said. “You’re going to be held to a standard that isn’t realistic. LeBron’s almost 40, man, c’mon. He can still do great things because he’s freakin’ LeBron. But in terms of getting that team to be good consistently for a period of years—a contender—it’s not going to happen with how it’s set up now. They have to be honest.
