LeBron James is being criticized for controlling his own legacy. For some people, he is just manipulating events in his style, causing him to achieve some attainments that will shape his career. Hence, the NBA veteran has been facing tons of accusations.
Vincent Goodwill, co-host of the Yahoo! Sports show, said that James wants a legacy and will do everything to achieve it. While with Ros Gold-Onwude, the show’s host, Goodwill responded to her message about LeBron’s unmatched talent and awards.
“Because LeBron is obsessed with legacy in a way, it doesn’t allow us dentally give him the praise ’cause he’s doing ’cause he’s.”
In the possible final years of his basketball career, James is on a mission to add one more Olympic gold medal to his achievements and maybe another NBA championship if his fortunes are good. If both of these were achieved, it would be another massive success for him.
Gold-Onwude cut off Goodwill’s message, but he eventually said that the twenty-time NBA All-Star sometimes controls stuff around him. She then allowed Goodwill to continue his insights about Lebron James, shifting from accusing him to praising the legend.
Yahoo’s senior reporter said he denies that he’s a LeBron hater. Goodwill said that it doesn’t mean he puts the Lakers forward as the second- or third-best basketball player of all time, but it doesn’t mean he hates him. He then recalls Gold-Onwude’s message earlier, calling James, indeed, the one whose hype and career will never be replaced.
Goodwill even said that James is on par with three other NBA legends.
“He had so much hype, and the only thing he could do was fail, but he didn’t. That’s his greatest victory, not where he ranks on Mount Rushmore or if he’s better than Jordan, Kobe [Bryant], or Magic [Johnson].”
LeBron James’ uniqueness stands as one of NBA’s greatest players.
Akron’s Finest has already achieved many awards throughout his 21-year basketball career. He’s a four-time NBA champion, Finals MVP, and overall league MVP. He’s also a 20-time NBA All-Star.
James also surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, a former LA Laker, as the all-time scoring leader in NBA history. He’s also the oldest player in the NBA and the first to have an active father-son duo in the NBA.
He also plans to add a third gold medal to his Olympic record, which is very possible given Team USA’s current roster.
