Should LeBron James get traded and team up with Golden State Warriors star player Steph Curry? If NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith would be asked, the answer is no, and that LeBron “doesn’t deserve it.”
While the Los Angeles Lakers are no longer a new name in the rumor mill for potential trades, more recent news has been different—this time, it’s LeBron James himself who is rumored to be leaving the Lakers and may possibly go to the Warriors for a potential James-Curry dream team up.
In one of his program segments, Smith expressed his disappointment towards the rumor and called out to LeBron to not move out of LA and stay with the Lakers instead.
“I don’t want to see it because LeBron James does not deserve it,” Smith said. “Stay yo’ a** right there in southern California with Anthony Davis and figure it out.”
This is in light of the recent revelation of ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins, as he dropped the word that the Lakers may be willing to let LeBron go—and all it would take is for him to ask.
“My sources tell me that if LeBron James at any point comes out and says that he wants to be traded or he wants to entertain it, that they’re going to entertain it,” Perkins said. “Let’s remember now what ended up happening when Golden State called and asked them about LeBron, Rich Paul, his agent, silenced all that. LeBron, if they get in that conversation again, I’m hearing Rich Paul ain’t getting in the middle of it.”
LeBron James to Bring Bronny Out of Lakers?
Not only would LeBron James be reportedly open to leaving the Lakers, but a separate rumor report suggested that should LeBron find an offer good enough for him to move out of LA, the likelihood is that Bronny would come with him as a package deal.
“Sources close to the Lakers did say that if James asked the Lakers to trade him, they would work with him to find a deal that lands him where he’d rather be but also brings back the kind of return that would jumpstart a rebuild,” Anthony F. Irwin of Clutch Points wrote. “If James was traded, it’s also believed Bronny James would have to be part of the deal.”
LeBron James has been playing for the Los Angeles Lakers since 2018, coming from his original home, the Cleveland Cavaliers. His son, Bronny James, was only recently drafted by the Lakers and is on his rookie season with the team.
