LeBron James may not be present at the 2025 Met Gala, but his wife, Savannah, turned heads in her first-ever appearance for the annual event.

As posted on her Instagram, Savannah James wowed at the Met Gala with her custom Hanifa gown, featuring a burgundy pinstripe pattern, a cropped jacket with oversized white French cuffs, and a dramatic mermaid-style skirt with structured folds and pleating. She completed the look with a burgundy necktie and a decorative silver brooch, embodying the event’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

Several of her friends from the industry commented and showed their appreciation for her look and style for the night.

    Ayesha Curry commented: “❤️Love! 😍”

Hazel Renee, wife of Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green, also commented.

LeBron James was unable to attend the 2025 Met Gala due to a Grade 2 MCL sprain he suffered during the Los Angeles Lakers’ first-round playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The injury occurred in Game 5, forcing James into early offseason recovery mode.

Despite being named an honorary chair for the event, he announced on social media just hours before the gala that he would not be able to make it, expressing his disappointment and calling the event a “historical moment.”

LeBron James Confirms His Role in Luka Doncic’s Lakers Future

One of the many pressing questions raised y the disappointing end of the Los Angeles Lakers’ playoff run this year is the future of their newly-traded star player Luka Doncic. With rumors putting a question to his future with teh LA team, LeBron James was associated in some reports. However, the 40-year-old veteran clarified that he would have no say whatsoever in the matter.

“No, that ain’t my job,” James told ESPN. “I think … I don’t think, I know, Luka knows how I feel about him. And ultimately, that trade happened for the future. That’s not for me. Luka has to decide what he has to do with his future. He’s [26] years old, I’m 40, so he can’t be basing his career off me. That’s just real.”

“But I hope, obviously, [he stays long term]. Laker fans [expletive] love him here. L.A. has accepted him. We love him as a teammate, as a brother. But ultimately, he’s got to make a decision for him. I ain’t going to be around much longer.”
