Different generations of NBA fans don’t really see eye to eye with many of those who witnessed the league from decades back fall into rosy retrospection. What do OGs feel about Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic? With three MVPs, is he in Top 10 now?
Legendary Nuggets coach George Karl is not one to act antagonistic towards the new generation. However, his latest take about the Joker appear controversial for some.
Karl, who hasn’t coached in the NBA since 2016 with the Sacramento Kings, opined that Jokic is now entering the Top 10 of the league’s All Time Greatest.
“This man is entering Top 10 all time convo discussions,” he wrote on X last Monday.
Karl made the statement on the night that Jokic produced 37-18-15 to will his team to a victory over the formidable Dallas Mavericks. Jokic now tops the league in assists and rebounds while placing fourth in the sscoring.
He doubled down on it next day. He said Jokic is now in the conversation for Top 10 all-time and it will become official once he wins another ring.
It’s a Simple Test…
If you believe Jokic is entering Top 10 all time status, you know Hoops.
If you don’t, you have a lot to learn still.

His post garnered different reactions. Some were open about it while others were not convinced. Some just think that those who came before him are untouchables. Common names in the Top 10 convo are Lebron James, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Bill Russell.
Nikola Jokic has a fan in George Karl
This is not the first time that Karl talked about Jokic glowingly.
“I’m thinking Jokic may be the best player I’ve ever seen play basketball,” he said back in April during the NBA playoffs.
Jokic is indeed a unique specimen. He is regarded as the best player in the league right now, producing numbers that are unmatched by any.
He already won three season MVPs, one Finals MVP, and one NBA championship.
His own coach Mike Malone is even at a loss in explaining how he continues to surpass himself from season to season.
“We’re all running out of words, adjectives and ways to describe his greatness and his impact. The simple way to say it is he’s the best player in the world.”
